Training & Workshops

The Survivors Trust delivers training to member charities, government agencies, police, health professionals, employers and schools to promote sensitive and informed responses to survivors. Our training is underpinned by a wealth of knowledge that comes from decades of experience working across the sexual violence and abuse sector.

Take a look at the training opportunities below and if you have any questions email [email protected] and our team will be happy to help. Please note, training can take place online via Zoom, MS teams or face-to-face training can be accommodated according to preference and availability.

If you're looking to develop your career in a role supporting survivors, we provide Accredited diploma qualifications for Independent Sexual Violence Advisers (ISVAs). Select a course to learn more:

One-day workshops are for professionals, students or anyone who works with people affected by sexual violence or abuse to help them sensitively respond to disclosures and provide appropriate support. We offer the following workshops:

  • Understanding the impact of sexual abuse & how to handle disclosures >>
  • Trauma-informed approach to working with male survivors of rape & sexual abuse >>
  • Managing Client Records - good practice for collecting, retaining and handling information-sharing requests >>

This Autumn we are introducing new training for working with clients who are both a survivor and a perpetrator of sexual violence (dual-status clients). The training is provided as two half-day workshops and is designed for organisations interested in exploring operational and practice issues in relation to supporting dual-status clients,

Our pre-trial therapy workshop empowers professionals to work ethically and safely with victims-survivors or witnesses to allegations of rape or sexual abuse throughout the criminal justice process.

Our Trauma-Informed Advocacy programme will equip you with the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to enable you to provide advocacy support for victims-survivors of sexual violence and abuse. This programme tasks place across four one-day sessions.

Have you heard about our trauma-informed projects?

In addition to our training opportunities, we are working to embed a trauma-informed ethos across all workplaces and educational settings. We are achieving this by helping educators and employers achieve our trauma-informed quality mark, and by promoting trauma-informed healthcare through our Check With Me First project.

    Who We Are

    The Survivors Trust is the largest umbrella agency for specialist sexual violence support services in Europe. Our member agencies provide information, advice, support and therapy to over 100,000 individual survivors each year. Our services work with victims and survivors of all ages and genders, of all forms of sexual violence, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation.
