Opportunity to join a Victim Reference Group

The Survivors Trust have been commissioned by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to facilitate a Victim Reference Group (VRG) to help develop and refine their Victim Transformation Programme.

This is a long-term programme of work aiming to improve the experience of victims in the criminal justice system. This group will have the opportunity to provide feedback, grounded in their experience of the criminal justice system, to inform a service which better meets victims’ needs.

Who can get involved?
We are seeking people affected by any crime, who have had their case completed in the criminal justice system. This could be up to five years since their case was heard in court.

Admin & Communications Volunteer

We are a dedicated team of experts, counsellors and trainees with over 2 decades knowledge, experience and expertise specialising in the long-term recovery of adults and children who have a lived experience and survived sexual abuse and violence.

One in Four is active in supporting the post-traumatic recovery of survivors by providing counselling, supporting them through the criminal justice system and in improving the professional and public understanding of how sexual abuse impacts lives through prevention for young people in schools and training and resources for professionals working with survivors.

We are seeking a friendly and trustworthy volunteer to manage our reception desk and help with admin and communication tasks for one day a week at our service in Bellingham. 

We’re looking for someone with good written and numeracy skills who enjoys working in a people facing role. Good ICT skills are helpful, along with an interest in data administration and project management. Understanding the importance of data protection and handling confidential information discreetly and securely is a must. We’d like to recruit someone who can commit to a minimum of 6 months in the role, with a probationary period of one month.

Volunteer Counsellor

One in Four is a charity which provides specialist and restorative therapeutic services for people who have experienced childhood sexual abuse (CSA) and/or sexual violence.

One in Four offers a range of excellent training and career advancement opportunities as well as high quality support and supervision for placement students. One in Four is committed to working hand in hand with training institutions to ensure a positive placement experience.

We advocate that our volunteers are able to make a 24 months commitment to the client work as we offer two year contracts to clients. This affords clients time and space to reflect, and gain meaning and develop new resources for their lives. Volunteers need to be aware that clients’ material can often be graphic and detailed, therefore emotional, and personal resilience are key qualities needed in the role.

Pathfinder Project

West Mercia Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WMRSASC)  is partnering with the NHS on a two-year project to provide a range of support services for adult survivors of sexual violence with trauma related mental health needs.  You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that brings together a range of knowledge and  skills to support adult survivors of sexual violence with trauma related mental health needs.

 This is a chance to help both shape and deliver a brand-new pathway of support alongside mental health service colleagues. 

 Opportunities are for a two-year fixed term contract and all roles will start on 01 November 2023.

Head of Children & Young People’s Counselling & Wellbeing Services

 

Full time: 38 hours a week (hours to be negotiated)

Salary: £37,261 (NJC 31) plus 3% pension contribution

This position offers an established role in a leading specialist rape & sexual abuse support charity & value-led, relational & strategic service provision to help RSVP achieve our CYP service mission: Children and young people need timely, appropriate and compassionate specialist support.

This role will lead in the safe delivery, strategic direction and development of RSVP’s CYP counselling and wellbeing services. You will support the Chief Executive and work closely with Heads of Services to implement the strategic direction of the organisation, manage operations, strengthen our sustainability and to continuously improve RSVP’s effectiveness and impact for the CYP we support.

Adult Practitioner

Advocacy Coordinator

We are looking for an Advocacy Coordinator to join our team. The role will provide advocacy support to a caseload of clients, including support around housing, finances, health, domestic abuse and other issues. CARA’s advocacy service focuses primarily on meeting the needs of some of our most complex clients – victims and survivors who would be unable to access other advocacy services.  The role will also involve supporting the wider CARA team in signposting other clients to external advocacy agencies, as appropriate and attendance at CARA groups to provide a drop-in advocacy surgery.

Operations Manager

Part time: 14 hours a week

Safer Waves was set up in 2019 to provide support to merchant seafarers who have experienced sexual assault, sexual harassment or gender discrimination on board ships.

Safer Waves are currently growing the organisation and are seeking a part-time Operations Manager. This role, at the very heart of the charity, is centred upon supporting the CEO in delivering our strategy and coordinating all aspects of operations, HR, finance, digital platforms and compliance.
