Our member groups are located throughout the UK and Ireland. We welcome diversity, and yet each of our member groups is determined to be part of an extensive group that works to empower other groups and services through shared ideas and resources.
STATEMENT: 30th June 2009
The Survivors Trust was shocked yesterday to learn that one of our own National Executive Committee (NEC) associate members, Matthew Byrne, Director of the Young People Advisory Service (YPAS) and Trustee of The Lantern Project, has been, according to the Liverpool Echo, charged with false imprisonment, sexual assault, two counts of assault and one count of possession of indecent images of children. Byrne has been immediately suspended from his role on the Executive Committee pending the outcome of court proceedings.
